Rye, Rye Brook and Harrison Weather

The communities of southern Westchester County enjoy four seasons. Summer is warm and bright with boating on the Sound and swimming in local pools and lakes. Autumn is glowing and gold and still quite warm, with hikes in the woods and local harvest festivals. Winters are cold and snowy, with 7 or 8 inches of snowfall in an average January and February; residents go skating, sledding and skiing, and the kids make elaborate snowmen. Spring brings plenty of showers and residents delight in the spring flowers as they push through the warming ground.

Temperatures in Port Chester and Rye average at about 69 degrees in June, 65 in September, 29 in January, and 49.5 in April.

Summers tend to be a little warmer inland, with average temperatures in Harrison and Rye Brook hovering around 75 degrees in June, 65 in September, 29 in January, and 50 in April.

If you choose to buy a home with a realtor's help, you substantially reduce your risk. Buying real estate involves more legal and financial repercussions than most people realize. Realtors are licensed and highly regulated professionals who are equipped to deal with the complex issues that arise. For example, if the FSBO seller holds your earnest money deposit, how will you as the buyer go about getting it back if the deal does not close? What will you do if the seller refuses to correct defects in the home or treat a termite infestation? Who pays for re-wiring the house if the electrical system does not meet current codes? What if there are liens against the property?

As a buyer, you have rights written into the sales contract. An experienced agent knows how to protect those rights while negotiating the best price and terms on your behalf.
